IPSWICH, MA (February 1, 2005) -- Xybol Interlynks, Inc. announces a highly cost-effective family of European-style terminal blocks for a broad range of wire-to-board termination requirements. All blocks are lead-free RoHS compliant.

The new MSB series of terminal blocks offer a low-profile height of only 10mm (0.394”) off of the surface of the PCB. Yet these high-reliability, screw actuated rising cage-clamp blocks provide discrete wire termination for wire sizes of 30 AWG to 16 AWG and have a higher current-carry rating than competitive products. This unique combination of low profile and high current carry opens up new low-cost options for high-power applications.

Designed for PCBs up to 0.094” thick with 0.043” diameter plated-through holes, Xybol’s MSB-series terminal blocks are compatible with both wave and SMT or paste-in-hole soldering processes. UL94V-0 self-extinguishing plastic is used for maximum safety while a double-captive screw system is incorporated for convenience. All MSB products carry UL, CSA, and CE certification.

Xybol offers ultra-low prices by taking advantage of a highly automated assembly process. This process allows every pole on every part to be 100-percent tested for continuity and proper screw to cage-clamp alignment. Xybol promises zero defects, eliminating the replacement costs and frustration suffered by OEMs when defective contacts are found in otherwise good PCB assemblies.

No ferrous materials are used in MSB-series blocks, eliminating the corrosion problems that are common to lower-quality terminal blocks. OEMs can expect years of reliable service, for a fraction of the prices charged by other suppliers.

MSB-series blocks are offered in both common 5mm (0.197”) and 5.08mm (0.200”) on-center spacing. All parts are provided with a male/female dovetail that makes them end-stackable and modular. This enables OEMs and assemblers to make different-sized parts rapidly for any desired length or number of positions. For customers that require many blocks of one size, MSB blocks are available molded in positions of 2 to 25 poles.
